Alicia Keys - That's how strong my love is

A.Keys-That's how strong my love is

Some people they call me crazy
for falling in love with you
they can take me and lock me away baby
because there's nothing
those bars can do

I'll be the rising moon
after setting sun
just to let you know
you'll always have someone
I'll be the clearest day
when the rain is done
so you'll always know

through the shake of an earthquake
I will never fall
that's ho strong my love is
like a ship through the storm
we can risk it all
that's how strong my love is

I use to feel kinda lonely
cause the world can be so fake
all that matters I'm telling you
is you and me only
and the fortress from love we make

I'll be the water you need
in the desert land
just to let you know
you'll always have my hand
I'll be the woman you need
to be a better man
so you'll always know

through the shake of an earthquake
I will never fall
that's ho strong my love is
like a ship through the storm
we can risk it all
that's how strong my love is

Oh, can't nothing break us down
Oh, cause we are heaven bound
like the mountain standing tall
immovable, we're here to stay
Oh, can't nothing get in the way

through the shake of an earthquake
I will never fall (I will never fall)
that's ho strong my love is
(that's ho strong my love is)
like a ship through the storm
we can risk it all
(we can risk it all)
that's how strong my love is
(that love is)

Through the deepest waters
I won't let you drown
(I won't let you drown Ohh!)
that's ho strong my love is
(that's ho strong my love,
my love, my love)
cause we're the moon in the sky
that will never come down
(never come down)
that's how strong my love is
(Oh that's how strong my love is)
that's how strong my love is
that's how strong my love is

A Keys-Así de fuerte es mi amor

Alguna gente me llama loca

Universal Structure of human lexical semantics

Today I would like to share a recent scientific discovery that provides evidence for a semantic parallelism between languages.

The Lexical Semantic's Universal Structure

Maybe it’s not so difficult to adapt ourselves to new languages because, we are all humans, and that makes languages highly similar. All we need to express the same things, although we use different words.
Youn, H. et al had published a surprising scientific result, they had empirically demonstrated that there is a universal structure of human lexical semantics.

What does this mean?
Semantic network is highly structured: structural semantic are consistent across different language groups, and largely independent of geography, environment, and the presence or absence of a literary tradition.
There is a universal attribute of human cognition and language use and the reason is that the way concepts are organized in the human brain reflect properties universal to human cognition.

They state:
“Semantics, or meaning expressed through language, provides indirect access to an underlying level of conceptual structure. We provide an empirical measure of semantic relatedness between concepts”.

Leaning 11 languages taught me 11 lessons

Luca Lampariello tells his story on internet.

He is an advocate of language learning, and he challenges the assumption that becoming multilingual is difficult.

Finding the motivation to learn languages

Finding the motivation to do it, as he says, is the most difficult part, but language learning for him is about much more than heaps of books and hours of study. It's about travelling to marvellous places, meeting inspiring people, enjoying delicious food and embarking on innumerable journeys of self-discovery.
He found the motivation on the experiences that languages make possible.

The 11 lessons

  1. English - 1st leasson learned: languages cannot be taught, they can only be learned. Having someone or something to aid with the process is of great benefic. Find a guide, not an instructor.
  2. French - 2nd leasson learned: a language is a door to an entire world which is wholly woth exploring. So let your guard down and fall in love! With the language, with the country, with a person, or even with the food. There's no greater motivation!
  3. German - 3rd leasson learned: if you find a method you like and which works for you, you can start learning any language by yourself. There is no one best method to learn a language. Find something that is effective for you. And above all, experiment!
  4. Spanish - 4th leasson learned: language learning offers you profound insights into your own, native language. If you learn a language similar to yours, speak it from the beginning. It's easier than you perhaps imagine.
  5. Dutch - 5th leasson learned: there is no such thing as a useless language. They will all come in handy sooner or later, so don't let others determine what you learn. Allow yourself to be guided by your own interests and convictions.
  6. Swedish - 6th leasson learned: start working on pronunciation from the very beginning to avoid developing bad habits. Be flexible. If a language has an idiosyncratic feature, work on it more from the start.
  7. Russian - 7th leasson learned: if you are about to give up on a language, actively search for something that reignites your desire to learn. Go to the country, meet someone, watch a movie, make a YouTube vide. Anything goes.
  8. Portuguese - 8th leasson learned: you can learn two languages at the same time provided that you organize your time and energy well.
  9. Polish - 9th leasson learned: travel is a truly great motivator. Travel as much as you can, whenever you can. It will open doors and push you to learn languages.
  10. Mandarin Chinese - 10th leasson learned: don't be intimidated by a language's reputation.
  11. Japanese - 11th leasson learned: some languages have completely new features, so be flexible and adapt your learning method to the language. If your approach is not working, change it! Don't give up. Don't give in.

ADELE - Someone like you

ADELE - Someone like you

I heard that you settled down
that you found a girl
and you're married now

I heard that your
dreams came true
guess she gave you things
I didn't gave to you

Old friend,
why are you so shy?
It ain't like you told back
or hide from the lie

I hate to turn up
out of the blue uninvited
But I couldn't stay away,
I couldn't fight it
I hope you'd see my face
and that you'd be reminded
that for me, it isn't over

Nerverming I'll find
someone like you
I wish nothing but the best
for you two

Don't forget me, I beg
I remember you said:
Sometimes it lasts in love
but sometimes it hurts instead,
Sometimes it lasts in love
but sometimes it hurts instead

You'd know
how the time flies
only yesterday
was the time of our lives

We were born and raised
in a summery haze
bound by the surprise
of our glory days

Nerverming I'll find
someone like you
I wish nothing but the best
for you two

Don't forget me, I beg
I remember you said:
Sometimes it lasts in love
but sometimes it hurts instead

Nothing compares,
no worries or cares
regrets and mistakes
they're memories made
Who would have knows how
bittersweet this would taste?

Nerverming I'll find
someone like you
I wish nothing but the best
for you two

Don't forget me, I beg
I remember you said:
Sometimes it lasts in love
but sometimes it hurts instead

Nerverming I'll find
someone like you
I wish nothing but the best
for you two

Don't forget me, I beg
I remember you said:
Sometimes it lasts in love
but sometimes it hurts instead,
Sometimes it lasts in love
but sometimes it hurts instead.

ADELE - Alguien como tú

He escuchado que te has asentado
que encontraste a una chica
y que ahora estás casado

He escuchado que tus
sueños se han vuelto realidad
supongo que ella te ha dado cosas
que yo no te he dado

Viejo amigo,
¿por qué eres tan tímido?
No me gusta lo que has contado
ni que te escondas de la mentira

Odio aparecer de repente,
sin ser invitada,
pero no podía permanecer al margen,
no podía afrontarlo
Esperaba que vieses mi cara
y que recordaras
que para mi, esto no ha terminado

No importa, encontraré
a alguien como tú
No deseo nada excepto lo mejor
para vosotros dos

No me olvides, te lo suplico
Me acuerdo que dijiste:
A veces se dura en el amor
pero a veces en cambio duele
A veces se dura en el amor
pero a veces en cambio duele

Tú sabes
cómo vuela el tiempo
ayer
era el momento de nuestras vidas

Nacimos y crecimos
en una bruma de verano
unidos por la sorpresa
de nuestros días gloriosos

No importa, encontraré
a alguien como tú
No deseo nada excepto lo mejor
para vosotros dos

No me olvides, te lo suplico
Me acuerdo que dijiste:
A veces se dura en el amor
pero a veces en cambio duele

Nada es comparable,
sin preocupaciones o cuidados,
los arrepentimientos y errores
están hechos de recuerdos
¿Quién hubiese sabido cuán
amargo esto podría saber?

No importa, encontraré
a alguien como tú
No deseo nada excepto lo mejor
para vosotros dos

No me olvides, te lo suplico
Me acuerdo que dijiste:
A veces se dura en el amor
pero a veces en cambio duele

No importa, encontraré
a alguien como tú
No deseo nada excepto lo mejor
para vosotros dos

No me olvides, te lo suplico
Me acuerdo que dijiste:
A veces se dura en el amor
pero a veces en cambio duele
A veces se dura en el amor
pero a veces en cambio duele

ZAHO - TURNER LA PAGE

ZAHO - TURNER LA PAGE

J'ai vu sur ma route,
plein de paysages
Avec des mots,
je peins des images

Sortie de ma cage
montée d'un étage
Aujourd'hui je plane
les nuages

Et je laisse la vie m'emporter
Je laisse ma plume me porter
C'est pas si facile
de tourner la page

Quand le présent m'échappe
et que le passé me traque
Je soupire pour dire "dommage"

Je m'arrête un moment
juste pour une chanson
Je rattrape le temps volage

Et je laisse la vie m'emporter
Je laisse ma plume me porter
Mes joies et mes peines
Et je laisse la vie m'emporter
Je laisse ma plume me porter
J'entends cette vague qui m'apelle

Pour pardonner les mots muets
Le temps coule dans le sablier
Pour oublier, ne pas plier
J'avance sans savoir où je vais

J'essaie de tourner la page
J'essaie de tourner la page
J'essaie de tourner la page
J'essaie de tourner la page
tourner la page
J'essaie de tourner la page

Ivre comme un poète
Libre comme une mouette
J'accompagne les solitaires au large

Dans un ocèan de rage
Sous le beau temps ou l'orage
Je dépose mon ombre et je nage

Et je laisse la vie m'emporter
Je laisse ma plume me porter

Je laisse ma plume me porter
Mes joies et mes peines
Et je laisse la vie m'emporter
Je laisse ma plume me porter
J'entends cette vague qui m'apelle

Pour pardonner les mots muets
Le temps coule dans le sablier
Pour oublier, ne pas plier
J'avance sans savoir où je vais

J'essaie de tourner la page
J'essaie de tourner la page
J'essaie de tourner la page
J'essaie de tourner la page
tourner la page
J'essaie de tourner la page

J'ai vu sur ma route,
plein de paysages
Avec des mots,
je peins des images

J'ai vu sur ma route
plein de paysages
Avec des mots,
je peins des visages

J'ai vu sur ma route
plein de paysages
Avec des mots,
je rends hommage.

ZAHO - PASAR PÁGINA

He visto en mi camino
muchos paisajes
Con palabras pienso
en imágenes

Salí de mi jaula
subí un piso
Hoy vuelo

He visto en mi camino
muchos paisajes
Con palabras pienso
en imágenes

He visto en mi camino
muchos paisajes
Con palabras pienso
en caras

He visto en mi camino
muchos paisajes
Con palabras
yo rindo homenaje.

How Languages Open Doors

Speaking a foreign language can open the door to other cultures - so why aren't more of us interested in learning one?
Today I want to share with you an inspiring story:
Polyglot Alex Rawlins speaks 15 languages and on UN International Mother Language Day, he wants to inspire more people not to limit themselves to just one.
Take a look to his video and don't hesitate, start to learn a new language today!
